No, we're not all equal when it comes to cutaneous ageing! Everyone has their own individual biological clock, explains the dermatologist Joëlle Anconina-Finel.
Some people posses genes that enable them to look younger for longer. This is linked to the way that the reserves of collagen fibers are treated, as well as their elastin.
Our biological clocks can also be influenced by environmental factors, which accelerate cutaneous ageing: notably the sun. This is why it is essential to protect your epidermis with the help of an SPF equal or superior to 30, even in the city.
Other factors, such as smoking (active or passive), stress, pollution, lack of sleep and an unbalanced diet can also have an effect on cutaneous ageing.
Thankfully, it is possible to act against these behavioral factors, thereby reducing signs of cutaneous ageing by 50%. Hydrate yourself regularly every day, sleep 8 hours per night when possible and make sure you clean your skin thoroughly before bed.
By adopting flawless health and beauty practices, your complexion will be too: with radiant skin and no signs of ageing - for as long as possible!
